Charlie’s Carolina Style Wings
Makes approximately 1 ½ cups sauce

3/4 cup mustard
1/4 cup molasses
3/8 cup cider vinegar
1/2 tsp turmeric
1/2 T chili powder
1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
3/4 tsp Worcestershire sauce
1 T butter
3/4 tsp liquid smoke
1/2 tsp hot sauce
1 tsp pepper

Sauce:  In saucepan, mix together mustard, molasses, cider vinegar and turmeric, and simmer for about 15 minutes without allowing to boil.  Add in chili powder, cayenne pepper, Worcestershire sauce, butter, and liquid smoke and simmer another 15 minutes.  Mix in hot sauce and pepper.  Let cool.  (Vinegar taste will dissipate.)

Wings:  Bake wings uncovered for 15 minutes at 350 degrees.  Turn down oven to 250 degrees and bake for 45 minutes.  Cover with aluminum foil and bake for one hour.  Apply sauce liberally to both sides of wings.  Cover.  Bake for 30 minutes or longer if desired.
